![]() We went to dinner and was denied access to the italian restaurant due to no pants / jeans. I called Expedia and canceled the rest or our trip at Secrets and luckily had only a 1 night penalty. We talked to some other guests about the poor food and service they were getting as well and we decided we needed to get out of here. Resort policy, only 2 drinks per person and my wife wasn't with me so I walk back with my 2 drinks and settle down in the pool. I walked back to get drinks for my wife and I and asked for 4 (2 each) due to the 7 minute walk one way back to the pool. Guess what, the all inclusive quit serving drinks at the pool at 5 pm and there was only 1 bar open in the 500 room resort and that was all the way back by check-in. After moving to another room, we decided to go to the pool and cool off and have a drink to settle down. We went back to our room and got a call 20 minutes later about moving us. In the US, this would have been an automatic and an apology, in Mexico, it's maybe we can find you another room. Went to the front desk and spoke to Elizabeth and said this wasn't acceptable and she once again gave me attitude about I'm not sure if we can move to another room. We checked into our room for the first night and was given a room with a loud outdoor party going on under the room. Expedia called the property and couldn't reach the person on the weekend that deals with internet reservations on a Saturday since that is not the responsibility of anyone else at the property, it couldn't be resolved. Obviously, we were upset and called Expedia to see if they could help. She was not understanding or customer service oriented, just went into the normal Mexican BS mode about this is our policy. Elizabeth said their policy was to charge a fee much higher than this and they would not allow us to revise our reservation. BEWARE!!!! We could go online and see that the rate for 2 people was only slightly different, like another $50 per night. I felt like I was being taken advantage of because I didn't put 2 guests in the system when searching for a resort to stay at. This is a couples resort and I can't imagine a solo staying at this property. Just before completing the transaction, the front desk supervisor, Elizabeth, came over and informed us that our reservation through Expedia was only for 1 person and she wanted to double our rate for my wife, so another $1k. I was about to pull the trigger on it since we wanted to make this a romantic trip. Everything was going well and they were trying to up sell us into an ocean front suite which was going to be like another $1k. I ended up booking an additional night direct with the Secrets website. Expedia tried to jack up the price for all nights substantially for one night being added, which was not cool and I will be contacting them with feedback. ![]() ![]() We booked a reservation through Expedia and decided about a week out that we could leave earlier and tried to revise original reservation.
